Joe Spann has been the director of the Polk County (Florida) Historical and Genealogical Library for two decades. Now he is leaving the county for Nashville.
Spann is departing the genealogy research facility to take a job with a banjo company in Tennessee. In moving to Nashville, Spann returns to working in his original profession of music. Before joining the library, Spann spent a decade working as a professional musician. He said he will now handle marketing, customer relations and sales for Huber Banjos, a manufacturer of the stringed instruments.
