MacFamilyTree 6.3 Now Available

Synium Software GmbH has released a new update to its popular MacFamilyTree genealogy program. I have written before about MacFamilyTree, see http://goo.gl/Vwm9s for my past articles. I believe this is the most popular Macintosh genealogy program in Europe although I haven't been able to find any statistics to verify that. Now version adds new features, including a new Research Assistant, a new Media Gallery, and now even includes built-in Document Scanning.

The new version also has added:

• Sandboxed operation for increased security
• New Database browser
• Redesigned Startup Window
• Share Sheets for Reports and Charts (OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion only)
• Various chart improvements
• Sources report improved
• GEDCOM Import and Export improved
• Several Bugfixes and minor other improvements

MacFamilyTree has been a solid genealogy program for the past 14 years and continues to gain a lot of users. The program has been translated into a total of 15 languages. This means that the entire user interface, including all buttons, labels and menu entries, automatically adapts to the language settings in your Mac's System Preferences.

MacFamilyTree 6.3 sells for $59.99 (US funds) although a free demo is also available, allowing you to take it for a "trial run" before making the purchase to see if it meets your needs or not. The program works on PPC or Intel processors, running Macintosh OS X 10.5 through 10.8. It is a true 64-bit program.
