Now M. David Stone has written a review in PCmag.com of the latest and greatest handheld wand scanner on the market today: the Pandigital Portable Wi-Fi Wand Scanner with Feeder Dock (S8X1103). Stone says great things about this scanner although he points out that it is a bit pricey at $119.95 (on Amazon). Even better, the article contains links to earlier reviews in PCmag.com of the VuPoint Solutions Magic Wand with AutoFeed Dock PDS-ST450-VP ($149.99 at Amazon) and the VuPoint Solutions Magic Wand Wi-Fi PDSWF-ST44-VP ($97.95 on Amazon). If you read all three articles, you will then have a good side-by-side comparison of the most popular models of today.
The Pandigital Portable Wi-Fi Wand Scanner with Feeder Dock, has the most features. I especially like the fact that it has built-in wi-fi wireless networking. Most of these scanners offer postage stamp-sized screens where you can view the image that was just created by a scan. These tiny screens make it difficult to see fuzzy images or any "jitter" caused by erratic movement of your hand when making the scan. The wi-fi feature, however, makes it easy to view the scanned image immediately on a laptop or tablet computer that you also carry with you. A postage stamp-sized screen is also built into the device for those occasions where you don't have a laptop or tablet computer with you.

NOTE: Amazon's prices often jump up and down, sometimes even daily. I quoted the current prices when I wrote these words, but I wouldn't be surprised to see those prices change at any time.
