Lew Lockhart obviously wants to see increased funding for operation and management of the Library and Archives of Canada. He sent the following message:
I agree with today’s editorial in the Toronto Star that suggests the departure of Daniel Caron, from his office, provides an opportunity to the federal government to refocus, and to ‘fix things,’ at LAC. It occurs to me that everything that can be said and done between now and the upcoming cabinet shuffle, which, of course, may or may not see the appointment of a new Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, should be said and done. That’s the very reason that I used some time on the week-end to create a blog that, I do hope, will encourage people to lobby for change, and may help some to craft their letters to their Members of Parliament, and to others. The link below will take you to my blog.
Please consider signing the petitions and/or writing and sending the letters that are mentioned by my blog. And please do send the link to it to all you know who may also have an interest in this matter.
