This is an update to an article published two days ago. I have added a few details, such as the menu, the price, and the URL for the order form.
Tickets are now available at http://eogn-2013-las-vegas.eventbrite.com!
I would like to invite you to a dinner for EOGN Newsletter readers, their guests, and other genealogists, to be held at 7:30 PM Pacific Time in Las Vegas on Saturday evening, May 11. That will be a few hours after the close of the annual conference of the National Genealogical Society.
NOTE: This is not an official event of the NGS and is not sponsored by or sanctioned by the Society in any way. It is simply an informal dinner for a few friends being held after the NGS conference is over.
Tickets are now available at http://eogn-2013-las-vegas.eventbrite.com.
The location is being held in the same place as the NGS conference. Since you will have already spent four days wandering around those ballrooms and other nearby rooms during the conference, you will already know where Ballrooms D and E are located before Saturday evening.
Dinner will be buffet style and you can sit with friends or not, as you wish. A cash bar will also be available.
The agenda is simple: there isn't one. There will be no presentations, no programs, and little of anything else in the way of organization. This is a chance to sit with friends, even newly-found friends, and to relax over a meal and discuss genealogy.
If you know anyone who has ever attended a previous EOGN Dinner, ask them if they enjoyed it.
The menu will be buffet style, including:

OK, here's how to attend the dinner:
You absolutely MUST have a reservation in advance. No exceptions. In fact, you need to make the reservation online and ideally print your own ticket(s) on your printer and bring the ticket(s) with you. If you don't have a printer available, don't worry about it. I will have a list of attendees with me. If you don't have your printed ticket, I can check on your status. Having a printed ticket with you simply gets you admitted a few seconds earlier with no delays at the door.
If you are bringing a spouse or other invited guest, make sure you make a reservation for everyone in your party. It will be embarrassing to tell your spouse that you are going out to dinner with others while your spouse is left alone in the hotel room because "you forgot!" If there are two of you, you need two tickets.
Reservations will close on Thursday, May 9, at 9 AM Eastern time, 6 AM Pacific time. I have to call the restaurant and give them an exact headcount that morning so the banquet staff can prepare enough food for all of us. There will be no last-minute additions (unless someone cancels and you can obtain their ticket).
I'll see you at dinner. You could win a door prize. Bring your appetite!
