Of course, as soon as anyone mentions storing files in the cloud, one question pops to mind immediately: "What about security?" Actually, there is a simple and very safe solution: encrypt the files first while they are still on your computer's hard drive and then transfer the encrypted files to the cloud. That keeps everything very safe and secure.
Dennis O'Reilly has a new article in the C|Net web site that describes how he keeps his files safe and secure on Google Drive. That information alone is useful but I also like the fact that his article has numerous links to still other articles that describe additional methods of keeping your personal information away from prying eyes. Many of those articles apply to all cloud-based storage, not just Google Drive.
