The purpose of the calendar is to provide information about future genealogy conferences, seminars, conventions, cruises, trips, and even online "webinars." All information is to be provided by you and other readers of this newsletter.
You can go to the Calendar of Genealogy Events at http://www.eogn.com/calendar at any time to see events for your area. You can click on any state, province, or country in the list to see future events in that area. Some areas have lots of listings. Others, mostly rural states or provinces, may have nothing listed.
If you already checked recently and now only care about newly-added events since your last visit, click on "Recent changes."
Some of those recent changes include genealogy events being held in: Australia, British Columbia, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Ontario, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, United Kingdom, Washington, Wisconsin, and on board genealogy cruise ships.
A few of those changes may have simply been someone deleting past events. However, the majority are additions of new, upcoming genealogy events.
I would like to invite everyone to contribute future events in your arrea. You can do so by directly entering them into the EOGN Calendar of Genealogy Events, there is no need to submit them to someone else and then wait and wait and wait. If anyone does add inappropriate entries, you or anyone else can delete them within seconds. All entries are published immediately, free of charge.
You can enter information about the next meeting of your local genealogy society, a a statewide or national conference, or most anything else that will be a meeting of genealogists. There's even a page for online webinars to be held in the future.
If you are going to be a speaker at a future meeting, you are especially invited to add information about the event.
Feel free to check out the Calendar of Genealogy Events at http://www.eogn.com/calendar.
