Ancestry.com has announced a deal to add historical news articles to the site, via a new link with the Associated Press, according to an announcement released by the two this morning. Ancestry.com said it will feature the original, wire copy format of fifty years of news stories from the Associated Press as part of the deal, spanning from 1937 to 1985. The deal brings more than one million AP stories to the site. Financial details of the deal were not announced. The companies said the stories are indexed by name, and can also be searched by subject and date.
