I have written often about the advantages of Chromebook computers. (See http://goo.gl/c049t0.) Now Acer has added a new model that has a significant difference: it has a touchscreen.
The newly-announced C720P is claimed to boot up from cold in just 7 seconds, has twice the built-in storage of earlier Acer Chromebooks and comes with 100 gigabytes of Google Drive storage for two years. It features an 11.6-inch, 1366 x 768 resolution display screen, weighs about three pounds, and the battery lasts 7.5 hours between charges. This lightweight computer includes Bluetooth 4.0, a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI video connector, and a media card slot. When turned on, it boots up in just 7 seconds. Like all Chromebooks, it never gets viruses.
The C720P Chromebook will be available from next month for US$299.99. Details may be found at http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/group/chromebooks.
