Glenrothes, Scotland - Jan 30, 2014 SpanSoft announces the 20th anniversary of their Windows genealogy charting software, TreeDraw, and celebrates with the release of version 4.2.
In the early 1990s Microsoft Windows and personal computers were starting to become popular, in fact it's only 22 years since Windows 3.1 was released. In 1994 SpanSoft released TreeDraw, initially as a companion product for their genealogy database software Kith and Kin. TreeDraw was the first family tree charting program and remains the only one to allow the user to fully customize their charts before printing them. With the additional capability to import data via the LDS's GEDCO M file standard, TreeDraw soon became popular with users of other genealogy programs. A version specifically for use with Legacy Family Tree was first released in 2001; known as TreeDraw Legacy Edition. Now in it's 20th year, TreeDraw continues to develop with the recent release of version 4.2.0. Currently used by thousands of people in 78 countries worldwide, it remains a firm favourite.
SpanSoft, Scotland are Windows software developers specializing in genealogy and family tree software. Their main products are Kith and Kin Pro, TreeDraw and TreeDraw Legacy Edition.
