Who Do You Think You Are? (UK Version) Announces 10 New Guest Stars

The original Who Do You Think You Are? television programme will enter its tenth year on the air this summer. Guests who will have their family history researched will include:

  • Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry
  • Comic Billy Connolly
  • Mrs Brown’s Boys creator Brendan O’Carroll
  • Actor Brian Blessed
  • Actor Martin Shaw
  • DJ and presenter Reggie Yates
  • Actress Tamzin Outhwaite
  • Actresses Julie Walters
  • Actress Sheridan Smith
  • Well-known model Twiggy

There will also be an hour-long edition of the programme looking back over the past decade, involving figures who have previously been featured including JK Rowling and Jeremy Paxman, who memorably let down his tough exterior to shed a tear.

Isn’t it strange. Europeans know all of America’s “Stars” but I have never heard of any of these slated to appear on WDYTYA (UK), except Twiggy and I haven’t heard of her since she was a teen.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the episode on Billy Connelly, one of my favorite comedians, and more so since my English cousin, Rosie Llewellyn, will be on the show helping to research his family.

Connolly is a seriously big name, and has been for the better part of four decades.
Who the heck is Chelsea Handler?

I look forward to that line-up. I love Billy Connolly. He’s hilarious and wonderful. Brian Blessed is great as well. I only wish I could say I don’t know of Chelsea Handler. Ugh! Rude and crude is entirely too popular on television.

Not true! Plenty of those US stars are unknown to Europeans. And if you watch PBS you’ll know some of these

There are three of Britain’s best actors in there so if you haven’t heard of them it really is time do to some research of your own.

When will this premiere? I’m having a hard time finding the info on google.

I have just seen the episode featuring Brendan O’Carroll and recommend it for anyone doing genealogical research in Ireland.

US followers do not receive the UK version; can anyone tell me where I might be able to find it, if at all?
