Another Humorous Obituary: Tim Schrandt of Ridgeway, Iowa

Tim Schrandt, age 63, of Spillville, Iowa died on Friday, March 29, 2019. I don’t know if he wrote his own obituary before his death or if one of his survivors has a sense of humor. Either way, this is a “good read.”

“Tim Schrandt (Lynyrd) made his last inappropriate comment on March 29, 2019. If you are wondering if you may have ever met him, you didn’t -because you WOULD remember. For those of you that did meet him, we apologize, as we’re sure he probably offended you. He was world renowned for not holding back and telling it like it is.”

God bless him!

Thank you for sharing this Dick. I think Tim may be a cousin that I never had a chance to meet. My GGG aunt and uncle were Helena BOECKMAN Schrandt and Albert SCHRANDT who came from Oldenburg to settle in Winneshiek Co. Iowa and they raised a large family with many descendants. Now I’ll be able to meet him through genealogy and keep him alive for all to read about!

I LOVE obits like this. Once you read it you get a REAL insight as to the man and how truly loved he was. God bless him and my thoughts are with his family.

OMG!!! I wish I HAD met him! My kinda guy — no holes barred. Seriously part of this could be part of my obit if I ever decide to have one. Prayers and blessings to the family and Good Luck to G. Heileman Brewing Co — maybe a family member will step up and take over for Tim. 😉

I wrote a song about characters like the late Mr. Tim Schrandt called Inappropriate – That’s Who You Are. He was born 100 years too late. Still society needs folks like him to remind us that free speech is a gift. And right-or-wrong not “always” to be wasted on political-correctness.

The mark of a good obituary is when you finish reading it and see the character of the person, their quirks and what made them loved by the family and friends they left behind…
