I appreciate the new updates, but what I’d like to see are updates that will help African Americans find their ancestors: A data base of southern Black church records that include cemeteries, graveyards, funeral programs (These additions are needed because Black deaths were not included in newspapers, and so important information can only be obtained through cultural artifacts); The names and locations of plantation and the names of the families who owned those plantation and or farms; a way to distinguish the slaveholder from the enslaved (in my family, the slave holder and the enslave often have the same name so it become difficult to distinguish between them); which brings me to the my last request: while there is a button to click that claims to distinguish race, it doesn’t. It could focus the search.
